Twin Rivers Bears Sports

All students who plan to participate in tryouts for sanctioned sports at Twin Rivers Middle School must be approved through the RankOne app. In order to achieve approved status, parents must have a Georgia High School Association physical form (4 pages in length) completed by healthcare provider.

Once this is completed, the parent will need to create a RankOne account and upload the completed/signed physical document. Additional electronic forms are required to be completed following the upload.

Once these actions have been completed, the Twin Rivers Middle School Athletic Staff will approve the student for participation OR will contact the parent for additional information. Links to the physical form, the RankOne app, and a tutorial for uploading documents to the app are listed below.

Basketball

Boys Head Coach:

Girls Head Coach: Cavon Hicks

Twin Rivers 's Basketball teams compete in the Gwinnett County Middle School League and play competitive games from November through February. The teams will play 14 regular season games, potentially qualifying for the post season Playoff tournament.

Tryouts for the 25-26 season will take place in mid-October for both the boys and girls teams.

Cheerleading Head Coach: Shea Linton TRMS cheerleading is a team-based sport that involves supporting our basketball teams, building community, strengthening athletic skills, and working together to raise school spirit within and outside our school building. Look for information about tryouts at the start of the school year, with tryouts in late August or early September.
Cross Country

Boys Head Coach: Jarvis Mingo

Girls Head Coach: Sharon Morales

TRMS Cross Country is a “no-cut” sport. All students are welcome! Members of the team will train together on the Twin Rivers MS campus at least two days a week. The season runs from the end of July to mid-October, competing in 5-7 races. The team will compete on courses around the area and against other middle schools.

Soccer

Boys Head Coach: Michael Akoto-Bamfo

Girls Head Coach: Brandy Scott

TRMS Soccer teams compete in the Gwinnett County Middle School League and will play games from the end of January to April. The teams will play in 8 contests and can qualify for the post season tournament (post season could go into May). The teams will practice on Twin Rivers Middle School’s PE field during the week and will compete in matches on Saturdays at our GCPS High School stadiums. Soccer is a competitive sport in which players are chosen through an evaluation process that takes place prior to the season in Mid-January.

Volleyball Head Coach: Jessie Patterson Twin Rivers Middle School competes in a league against other Gwinnett County Middle Schools. The players are chosen through an evaluation process that takes place prior to the season (May 2025). The season lasts from late July to mid-September and consists of 10 regular season games. The team could qualify for a one day post season tournament based on regular season standings. Along with volleyball skills, these opportunities help prepare players for high school volleyball as well as teaching them skills in teamwork, responsibility, and good sportsmanship.
